Adelaide City produced a commanding display on Friday night, defeating South Adelaide Panthers 7-1 at Adelaide City Park to strengthen their position near the top of the Apex Steel Women’s State League ladder.

The Black and Whites wasted little time asserting themselves, with Natalie Frantzis opening the scoring after just nine minutes before adding a second eight minutes later.
Nakita Pereira continued her strong form in front of goal, finding the net in the 21st minute to make it 3-0 before South Adelaide pulled one back through Nila Mohring.

Any hopes of a Panthers comeback were quickly extinguished as Frantzis completed her hat-trick on 27 minutes, before Pereira grabbed her second of the evening and Millie Scott added another to hand City a commanding 6-1 lead at the break.
The second half was a more controlled affair, but City continued to create opportunities and added a seventh goal through Scott in the 69th minute to complete the scoring.
Head Coach Paul Morris again showcased the depth within his squad, with Yasmina Kasumovic, Ines Buckley, Mawa Sumaoro, Senglyn Set and Sima Hussaini all introduced from the bench during the second half.
The result extends Adelaide City’s winning streak to six matches and sees the Black and Whites remain firmly in the title race. With 39 goals scored and just 11 conceded this season, City continue to boast both the league’s most potent attack and one of its strongest defensive records.
