City Maintain Pressure at the Top with win over Para Hills

Adelaide City continued its strong run of form with a professional 2-0 victory over Para Hills Knights at Adelaide City Park on Saturday afternoon, making it four wins from the club's past five league matches.

Vas Parhas' side wasted little time asserting its authority, taking the lead inside four minutes when Yuki Kitano found the back of the net after a bright opening to the contest.

City continued to control possession and territory, creating a number of opportunities before doubling its advantage in the 25th minute. Francesco Schimizzi finished confidently to make it 2-0, giving the home side a deserved buffer heading into the halftime break.

Para Hills attempted to respond after the interval, making a number of substitutions, but City's defence remained composed to record another clean sheet.

Parhas also used the second half to rotate his squad, introducing Nicholas Bucco and Asad Kasumovic at halftime before Alex Battistella replaced Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio just after the hour mark. Charles Ayang was introduced late as City comfortably saw out the contest.

The result sees Adelaide City move to 35 points and remain firmly in the race at the top of the RAA National Premier League standings, level on points with WT Birkalla and just two points behind leaders MetroStars.

It was another successful afternoon across the club, with the Reserves defeating Para Hills 1-0, while the Under 18s produced an emphatic 7-0 victory.

Adelaide City now turns its attention to Round 18, hosting Croydon FC at Adelaide City Park on Saturday, 18 July 2026.
