City’s Australian Championship fixtures confirmed
Adelaide City’s six Group Stage fixtures for the 2026 Australian Championship have been confirmed, with the Black and Whites set to begin their national campaign at Adelaide City Park on Friday, 16 October against Avondale FC.
City will play three matches at Adelaide City Park and three interstate fixtures across Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle, facing Avondale FC, Wests APIA FC and Broadmeadow Magic FC twice during the Group Stage.
The opening two rounds will both be played at home, with Avondale visiting Oakden on 16 October before Wests APIA arrives the following Friday. City then travels to Newcastle to face Broadmeadow Magic, followed by away matches against Avondale and Wests APIA, before returning to Adelaide City Park for the final group match against Broadmeadow Magic on Sunday, 22 November.

The 2026 Australian Championship begins on 15 October, with the Finals Series commencing on 26 November and the Grand Final scheduled between 10 and 12 December. The competition will also trial a penalty shootout bonus-point model, with drawn Group Stage matches going directly to penalties and the shootout winner receiving an additional competition point.
Adelaide City’s Round 5 clash with Wests APIA will receive free-to-air SBS coverage, while the Club’s other Group Stage matches are scheduled to be available via SBS On Demand.
