Adelaide City has recorded a third straight victory following a 2-0 win over Cove FC at Adelaide City Park in Round 9 of the Apex Steel Women’s State League on Saturday.
Millie Scott’s goal in the 57th minute and an own goal six minutes from time ensured the Black and Whites would make it three consecutive wins and eight matches undefeated since an opening round loss.
City has also strengthened their position in second place thanks to a four point gap over Adelaide Jaguars after their loss to ladder leaders Sturt Lions.
Head Coach Paul Morris made one change to the starting lineup with Natalie Frantzis replacing Sophie McGrath.

It was somewhat of a slow start from the hosts before they clicked into gear in the second half.
Scott intimated while not at their absolute best, the fact that they still collected another three points was the most impressive aspect from the performance.
“I think the ability of the team to continue from last week,” she told Adelaide City’s official website.
“We didn’t have the best of first halves, but we came out firing in the second half and that showed – and just our determination.”
Having not lost in the league since Round 1, confidence and morale is naturally high within the squad.

The attacker said the key to maintaining their strong form was to not look too far into the future.
“I think that we just believe in ourselves and that we’re backing ourselves and we just go week by week,” she said.
“There’s no point looking ahead, we just keep on pushing week in, week out and just focus on what we can do in the moment.”
Scott was also pleased about registering back-to-back clean sheets and a testament to their solid defensive structures.
“It’s nice to keep a clean sheet, it’s always nice to not concede,” she continued.
“So it’s showing not only our attack is working but also our defensive shape as well.”
It was the third successive game, Scott has etched her name on the scoresheet and has five for the season.
“It’s always fun scoring goals,” Scott stated, as her rich vein of form endures.
“It’s just nice to feel like I’m finding my feet again. I felt like I had a little dip at the start of the season and starting to find my feet.
“And the team backs me and we’re all together in it.”
