Club great Zoran Matić to attend Adelaide City’s 80th Gala

Adelaide City Football Club is proud to confirm that former player and championship-winning coach Zoran Matić will be in attendance at the Club’s 80th Anniversary Gala.

Matić is one of the most influential figures in Adelaide City’s history, with his impact felt across both his playing days and, most significantly, his time as head coach.

After representing the Club as a midfielder during the 1980s, Matić transitioned into coaching, where he would go on to lead Adelaide City through its most successful period.

As head coach, he guided the Club to all three of its National Soccer League Championships — 1986, 1992 and 1994 — establishing Adelaide City as a dominant force in national competition.

To be at the helm for every national league title in the Club’s history is a remarkable achievement and cements Matić’s place as one of the defining figures of Adelaide City.

His influence went beyond silverware, with the standards, discipline and identity he instilled continuing to shape the Club long after those championship years.

His presence at the 80th Anniversary Gala provides a fitting opportunity to recognise that legacy and celebrate one of the key architects behind Adelaide City’s success.
