Adelaide City Football Club is delighted to welcome Alex Battistella back to the Black and Whites, with the exciting young winger signing until the end of the 2027 season.
Battistella returns to Adelaide City after spending the past 18 months with Adelaide United's Youth Team, where he made 33 appearances and scored eight goals in the RAA National Premier League.
For Battistella, the move marks a return home.

At just 18 years of age, Battistella already boasts an impressive football résumé. Having joined Adelaide City as an Under 8, he progressed through every stage of the Club's junior pathway before being selected in the Skillaroos program at the age of 12 and later representing South Australia in the Under 16 State Team at the 2023 National Youth Championships.
That same year, Battistella achieved another significant milestone when he made his senior debut for Adelaide City's NPL side.
His performances and potential earned him a move to Adelaide United's Youth Team ahead of the 2025 season, where he continued his development against senior opposition and established himself as a regular contributor, making 33 appearances and scoring eight goals.
Now back in Black and White, Battistella returns as a more experienced player, bringing pace, creativity and attacking flair to Adelaide City's squad for the remainder of 2026 and beyond.

As a dynamic and exciting winger, Alex represents the future of Adelaide City Football Club.
His return is a reflection of the Club's commitment to developing local talent and providing a pathway from junior football through to senior level.
Most importantly, it sees one of Adelaide City's own return to the Club where his football journey began.
Everyone at Adelaide City Football Club welcomes Alex back to the Club and looks forward to seeing him once again represent the Black and Whites.
