Watch: Adelaide City’s Grand Final comeback goals
Adelaide City produced a stunning second-half comeback in Friday night’s RAA National Premier League Grand Final, fighting back from 2-0 down against West Torrens Birkalla to force extra time.
The Black and Whites pulled one back in the 65th minute when captain Nicolas Bucco swung in a corner which was flicked on at the near post, allowing Oliver Western to side-volley home and bring City back into the contest.
City continued to push and found the equaliser deep into stoppage time. Giorgio Parhas delivered a cross into the area which Asad Kasumovic flicked on, with the ball deflecting off Allan Welsh and into the net for an own goal to make it 2-2.
With neither side able to find a winner in extra time, the Grand Final was decided from the penalty spot, where John Hall produced two fantastic saves to help Adelaide City prevail 6-5 and complete a memorable Premiership and Championship double.
