A tight turnaround sees Adelaide City back in action against Cove FC on Monday night in the first of two Apex Steel Women’s State League catch-up games.
The second-place Black and White survived a scare on Friday night to fightback and secure a vital 2-1 victory over Western Strikers.
Millie Scott and Nakita Pereira were on the scoresheet for the hosts.

Collecting the three points enabled City to keep alive aspirations of a premiership, as they trail leaders Sturt Lions by six points. But the hard work is just beginning.
With Sturt having scored 17 goals from its previous two games, they also boast a superior goal difference over City by seven goals.
While winning first and foremost will be crucial, Paul Morris’ side will need to be ruthless in attack to close the gap – should the title be decided by goal difference.

The City faithful will be hoping the likes of Scott, Pereira Yasmina Kasumovic and Natalie Frantzis can continue their immense contributions all the year, with the attacking quartet yielding 36 goals between them.
The Zebras have recorded wins in their two prior meetings against Cove this season, a 2-0 triumph in May and a 4-2 success in March. Both victories have occurred during the club’s impressive 16-match invincible run.

Cove, meanwhile, enter the contest in sixth spot, snapping a three-game losing streak after beating Elizabeth Grove 2-0.
An important clash looms as both teams will arrive on little rest and a City outfit aware they can ill afford to slip up with so much at stake.
The Reserves will begin the evening at 6:1530pm before the Seniors kick off at 8:30pm.
