WSL Round 16 Preview: The Cove FC v Adelaide City

Adelaide City returns to the road on Friday night, travelling to the Southern Soccer Facility to take on Cove FC in Round 16 of the Apex Steel Women's State League.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8:15pm, with the Black & Whites looking to build on last week's hard-fought 2-2 draw against league leaders Sturt Lions.

City showed plenty of character in the top-of-the-table clash, twice coming from behind to earn a valuable point through a Yasmina Kasumovic brace. The result kept Paul Morris' side firmly in second place on the ladder and extended the Club's unbeaten run as the race for the Premiership continues.

Cove FC enters the fixture following a 2-0 victory over South Adelaide last weekend, but Adelaide City will take confidence into Friday night's clash after its determined performance against the competition leaders.

The two sides have already met twice this season, with Adelaide City emerging victorious on both occasions. The Black & Whites claimed a 4-2 away win in Round 2 before backing it up with a 2-0 victory at Adelaide City Park in Round 9.

With the Premiership race entering its final stages, another three points would be a significant result for the Black & Whites as they look to keep pace with league leaders Sturt Lions.
