Adelaide City host Elizabeth Grove at Adelaide City Park on Friday night in Round 17 of the Apex Steel Women’s State League.
City, second on the table, dropped their first points in the competition since early April following a 2-2 draw to leaders Sturt Lions two weeks ago. Severe weather conditions postponed their clash against Cove FC on July 3.

The result has left them six points adrift of top spot with two matches in hand, however Paul Morris and his team will know anything less than maximum points will hamper hopes of a first-place finish.
In the corresponding fixtures against Elizabeth back in March and May, the Black and Whites secured a 4-2 home victory and a 5-0 away win respectively.

More of the same will be the focus for the Oakden-based club, who have not suffered defeat in the league since the opening matchday – translating to a remarkable 13-game unbeaten streak.
Contrastingly, Grove are second from bottom and have lost their last three fixtures, most recently falling 3-0 to South Adelaide.
Millie Scott (12 goals) and Natalie Frantzis (eight goals) will no doubt be looking to add to their impressive hauls, while Nakita Pereira and Yasmina Kasumovic both have five goals to their names.
Another important clash awaits heading into the business end of the campaign.
