Back-to-Back Boys Youth Club Championship Glory for City

It was another significant week for Adelaide City’s junior program, with the club officially securing the Nova Boys Youth Club Championship for the second consecutive year.

Across the Under 13, Under 14, Under 15 and Under 16 boys competitions, Adelaide City clinched the YCC Tier 1 Championship, successfully defending the title won in the competition’s inaugural season last year.

The back-to-back triumph is a significant achievement for the club’s boys junior program and reflects the consistency and strength of performances across all four age groups throughout the season.

Several teams were rested across the weekend with finals football in mind, while the Under 15 YPL Boys finished their regular season with a 5-2 victory over WT Birkalla and now turn their attention to an Elimination Final.

In the girls’ program, commiserations go to the Under 15 YPL Girls, whose season came to an end on penalties, while we wish the Under 16 YPL Girls all the best as they continue their finals campaign.

At senior level, the WSL Seniors secured a memorable 2-1 victory over Modbury Vista in the WNPL Promotion Play-Off, while the NPL Under 18s began their finals campaign with a 2-0 victory over the Football SA State Squads.

Another successful regular season across Adelaide City’s junior program is now giving way to finals football, with several teams still in contention and others completing campaigns they can be extremely proud of.

A big thank you goes to Gus Capogreco, Steven Grelli, Liz Zikos, Glen Zejfert and Rick Petropoulos, along with all of our coaches, team managers and volunteers, for their contribution to another successful year across the junior program. Their work behind the scenes continues to provide our young players with the environment and opportunities to develop and represent Adelaide City.

We wish the Under 15 YPL Boys, Under 16 YPL Girls and all remaining teams the very best for their upcoming finals.

The back-to-back Boys Youth Club Championship is another significant achievement for the Black and Whites, while a number of our JSL teams also sit at or near the top of their respective home-and-away competitions with further silverware still up for grabs.

There is plenty of football still to come and plenty for the Black and White family to look forward to as the 2026 season reaches its business end.
