Adelaide City will take a slender lead back to Oakden following a 2-1 away win against Playford City in the semi-final first leg of the RAA National Premier League Finals Series on Saturday.
City made a blistering start to the match, with Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio opening the scoring inside six minutes before Asad Kasumovic doubled the advantage before half time.

The Patriots halved the deficit almost immediately, but City were good enough to secure another victory.
Patrick Caraccia sprayed a long pass into the channel for Kasumovic to run onto and while the Playford defender attempted to shield the ball out for a goal kick, the won the ball and squared his pass to Lawrie-Lattanzio for a simple tap-in.
As the match ebbed and flowed, the Black and Whites made it 2-0 with the usual suspects involved in the build-up.
Lawrie-Lattanzio fed a pass into Domenic Costanzo, who dribbled forward and waited for the wide run of Kasumovic before unleashing a defence splitting pass into his path and then rifled home an angled finish.
It was a beautifully crafted goal and demonstrated City’s attacking fluency to a tee.
However, the two-goal buffer was short lived with Christos Pounendis responding from close range via a header, a rare lapse in concentration for City’s often resolute defence.
Costanzo sent a free-kick inches wide of the target midway during the second half as the visitors continued to push for a third.

Playford thought they had scored an equaliser late on, but the assistant referee adjudged the ball had crossed the byline.
In the end, Vas Parhas’ side held on to seal an important triumph ahead of the second leg at Adelaide City Park.
