More Junior Success Across Another Big Week for City

Another strong week across Adelaide City delivered plenty to celebrate, with success across the senior, youth and junior programs as the 2026 season moves deeper into finals and the closing stages of the junior competitions.

The Under 14 YSL Black were officially crowned League Champions, adding the premiership to the Carl’s Jr. Youth State Cup they secured earlier this season to complete an outstanding Cup and League double.

There was also finals drama at Adelaide City Park on Sunday, with the Under 16 YPL Girls defeating Adelaide University on penalties to book their place in the Grand Final. After the match finished level, City held their nerve to win the shootout 5-4 and secure a place in the season decider.

The Under 16 Girls will now play their Grand Final on Sunday, 6 September at 2.30pm at ServiceFM Stadium, and we wish the team all the very best as they look to finish their season with silverware.

At senior level, the NPL side secured an important 2-1 finals victory over Playford City, putting the Black and Whites in a strong position as their finals campaign continues.

The Under 15 YPL Boys also continued their finals campaign with an important 3-2 victory over the Football SA State Squads, while there were a number of impressive results across our junior teams throughout the week.

With finals continuing and several of our JSL teams still competing strongly in their respective competitions, there remains plenty to play for across the junior program, with more matches scheduled throughout this week and weekend.

Attention will also soon turn to celebrating the season together, with the 2026 Adelaide City Junior Presentations taking place across Saturday, 19 September and Sunday, 20 September at the Campania Sports & Social Club.

The U11-U14 presentations will be held from 12pm-3pm on Saturday, followed by the U15-U18s from 5pm until late. Our U6-U10 players will then celebrate on Sunday from 12pm-3pm. Tickets are $30 per person, including pizza, pasta, chips and salad, with drinks available to purchase separately.

Planning is also underway for 2027 Junior Trials, which will commence on Friday, 9 October. Girls trials will begin on Friday evening, followed by U6-U11 Boys on Saturday, 10 October and U12-U17 Boys and Girls on Sunday, 11 October. Additional trials may be held from 12-16 October where required.

Congratulations to our Under 14 YSL Black on a brilliant Cup and League double, and good luck to the Under 16 YPL Girls ahead of Sunday’s Grand Final. With the NPL side also well placed following its finals win over Playford, and plenty of junior football still to be played over the coming weeks, there is a lot for the Black and White family to look forward to.
