Adelaide City’s Australia Cup and Federation Cup campaign came to an end on Tuesday night, falling 1-0 to Cumberland United in Knockout Round 4 of the Australia Cup SA Preliminary Rounds.
In a tight contest at Lady Burra Stadium, City were unable to find an equaliser despite a number of second-half changes as they pushed to get back into the match.
Nicholas Bucco captained the side, while Daniele Bressan, Francesco Schimizzi, Domenic Costanzo, Nicholas Francese and Oliver Western were among the players involved throughout the second half as City searched for a response.
The result sees Adelaide City exit the competition, with focus now turning back to league action across the Club’s senior programs.
