Adelaide City has romped to its biggest win of the Apex Steel Women’s State League season after a dominant 5-0 victory over Elizabeth Grove on Friday night.
Three goals in a scintillating four-minute spell through Nakita Pereira, Yasmina Kasumovic and a Millie Scott penalty saw the Black and Whites race to an insurmountable lead before the half hour mark in the Round 10 clash.
Natalie Frantzis then added a fourth in the 41st minute for her fifth goal of the campaign in an unrelenting opening 45 minutes from the away side.
The visitors added a fifth seven minutes into the second stanza courtesy of Scott to complete her brace, as City extended its winning streak to four games and unbeaten run to nine in the league.

“It was a good effort from the girls,” Frantzis said to Adelaide City’s official website following the contest.
“I think we’re just gaining a lot of consistency recently and it was fun to score a few goals.”
There were no changes to the starting eleven that dispatched Cove FC 2-0 a fortnight ago.
And Paul Morris’ side were up to the task from the outset.
Despite having the week off last weekend, the potential for a lack of sharpness or needing time to settle and re-discover their rhythm were immediately quashed coming up against the fourth-ranked team on the table.
It was a testament to their fast start, and concentration on their way to notching a third straight clean sheet.
After the win against Cove two weeks ago, City attacker Scott said one area of improvement was to work on beginning matches strongly.
Frantzis agreed, believing they began on the front foot from the get-go and did not give their opponents an inch.
“I guess last night showed we’re getting better at doing that every week,” Frantzis suggested.
“We’ve kind of played with this mentality where let’s just spend the first few minutes settling and really analysing the game and seeing how they’re playing and go from there really.”
The triumph maintains City’s second place spot in the league standings as they remain two points off ladder leaders Sturt Lions.
“We’re very happy with how we’re going,” she said.
“But we’re maintaining that focus because obviously we want to catch up to Sturt and win the league at the end of the day.”
