Grelli joins City on a one-year contract
Adelaide City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Fabian Grelli for the Club’s 2026 Australian Championship campaign and the 2027 NPL SA season.
An Adelaide Comets junior, Grelli joined the NTC and eventually worked his way into the Adelaide United NPL squad, where he featured regularly in both the club’s Senior and Reserves teams.
Grelli’s work between the boxes, linking defence and attack with his confidence on the ball, incisive passing, and stamina, has made him an important cog in the teams he has featured in.
Grelli is also accomplished on set pieces, often trusted with deliveries from corners or even direct strikes from free kicks around the box.
He joins an Adelaide City team that will complement his strengths, with players such as Nicholas Bucco, Patrick Caraccia, Daniel Bressan, and Giorgio Parhas as potential partners in the Black and White engine room.
In particular, both Bressan and Parhas have followed a similar trajectory to Grelli, moving to Adelaide City from Adelaide United’s NPL system and experiencing success in Oakden.
Head Coach, Vas Parhas, is also familiar with Grelli’s game, having been part of Adelaide United’s Youth Team coaching staff before joining the Black and White in 2025.

Football Director, Angelo Costanzo, said Grelli’s signing was an important addition for both the Australian Championship and beyond.
“Fabian is a talented young midfielder who we’ve watched develop over the last few years and we believe he has a lot of potential,” Costanzo said.
“He’s technically very good, works hard between both boxes and fits the way we want to play.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him continue his development at Adelaide City and become an important part of the group.
Adelaide City has enjoyed an 80-year history filled with success while fostering an environment that has produced multiple Socceroos.
Grelli’s arrival reflects Adelaide City’s continued commitment to on-field success and developing South Australia’s best young footballers.
