Adelaide City Football Club is proud to confirm that members of the Club’s history-making 2019 women’s side will be in attendance at the 80th Anniversary Gala.
Tiarn Powell, Dylan Holmes, Georgia Campagnale, Isabel Hodgson, Yuka Sasaki, Nanako Sasaki, Mikayla Vidmar, Matilda McNamara, Abbey Lucas, Kendall Jenner, Alyce Macauley, Bianca Gray, Daniela Di Bartolo and club captain Ali Atkins, together with coach Andrew Calderbank, were all part of the team that created history by becoming the first side in South Australian women’s football to win the treble.

In a remarkable 2019 campaign, Adelaide City secured the:
WNPLSA Premiership
WNPLSA Championship
Federation Cup
The treble capped off a dominant era for the Club’s women’s program, which won three consecutive championships between 2017 and 2019 and established itself as the benchmark in South Australian women’s football.
The defining moment came at Hindmarsh Stadium, where Adelaide City defeated West Adelaide 2-1 after extra time in a dramatic Grand Final.
After falling behind early, Isabel Hodgson equalised in the 72nd minute before Georgia Campagnale scored a dramatic winner in the 118th minute to secure the championship and complete the historic treble.
Under coach Andrew Calderbank, the side also achieved a number of other milestones throughout the season, including becoming the first club to score more than 100 goals in a season and recording 55 points during the home-and-away campaign, the highest tally achieved in the competition at the time.

Each of the players attending the Gala played an important role throughout that historic period.
Holmes brought leadership and composure through midfield, while Campagnale consistently provided attacking quality and delivered one of the most important goals in the Club’s women’s history.
Hodgson’s equaliser in the Grand Final proved pivotal, while sisters Yuka and Nanako Sasaki added technical quality, creativity and flair across the campaign.
Vidmar was part of a strong defensive unit throughout the era, while Powell added further quality and depth to the squad throughout the historic campaign and later continued her contribution to Adelaide City through coaching within the Club’s senior women’s program.
McNamara, Lucas, Jenner, Macauley and Gray were also important contributors throughout the season, helping drive the consistency and depth that underpinned Adelaide City’s remarkable success across all three competitions.
Daniela Di Bartolo was another important member of the championship-winning squad and represented the strong family values at the heart of Adelaide City. With football deeply woven into her family life, Di Bartolo’s story reflects the community, connection and sense of belonging that helped define the Club’s historic treble-winning team.
Ali Atkins remains an important connection between that championship-winning side and the current Adelaide City women’s team as captain today.
Guiding the team was Andrew Calderbank, whose leadership helped deliver one of the most successful seasons in South Australian women’s football history. Under his guidance, Adelaide City secured the Premiership, Championship and Federation Cup, while also becoming the first club to score more than 100 goals in a season and recording a then-competition record 55 points during the home-and-away campaign.
Their presence at the 80th Anniversary Gala provides an opportunity to celebrate one of the greatest teams in the Club’s history and reconnect with the players who helped redefine standards in the women’s game in South Australia.
More legends and championship-winning players will be announced in the lead-up to the event as Adelaide City prepares to celebrate 80 years of history.
